Talk Description
Diabetes is a global burden and the greatest prevalence will be in Africa. It can be managed successfully if all areas such as the Govenment, health care system and people living with diabetes (PLWD) are working together for a common goal. Unfortunately due to many reasons including competing priorities and other factors, the majority of PLWD get serious complications of diabetes. These lead to financial burden, poor quality of life and early death.
Diabetes education and support has been identified as one of the effective methods to help PLWD manage it successfully and prevent or delay complications.
