Cases of PVL-positive Staphylococcal pneumonia, nectorising fasciitis and severe community-acquired pneumonia due to Legionella are presented, followed by short discussion on each of these entities. These are all infections with high morbidity and mortality, and early recognition and appropriate management are essential improve patient outcomes.
