Talk Description
Experts and consultants in every field differ in various ways on some issues in their assessment, diagnosis and proposals for dealing with various challenges. The problem is compounded when popular and trusted scholars make statements outside their fields of specializations and contradict those who are more competent. The session will look into why
religious scholars and specialists would sometimes differ on the case of a patient or the legitimacy of a particular prescription or procedure; The importance sometimes of the opinion and sensitivities of the patient, and several courses of action (and combinations of approaches) that a Health Worker could consider depending on their context and time available, and making sure that anything they decide to do is their decision(!) and this should not compromise the improvement of the health of the patient.
