A review of extubation delivered at the nrse anaesthesia program held at the Anaesthetic Foundation meeting. This review includes answers to questions such as how difficult extubations can be predicted, why extubations fail, the best time to extibate (awake or asleep)? Is the recovery room a safe place to extubate, the best positions for extubation and how can we perfomr extubation safely on patients at risk.
