The Hormone systems of the body not only interact with each other but have a profound impact on other biological systems such as inflammation and metabolic regulation. This talk delves into some of the connection between stress hormones, insulin resistance and sex hormones and helps us to understand that shifts in hormones during times like the peri/menopuase are accompanied by significant metabolic and inflammatory shifts that leave patients vulnerable to chronic diseases. The talk also touches on the different lenses through which we as health care providers and patients view health and aging and how important it is to speak a common language between us in order to achieve mutual goals of therapy.
