Talk Description
Dr Symons presents a case study of Jenna Lowe, a 14 year old girl diagnosed with PAH and the effect her plight had on organ donation and the pulmonary hypertension registry. He discusses the classification of the disease and provides information on management of the disease.
Dr Symons provides details of the REVEAL trial (Register to EVvaluate Early And Long term PAH disease) the purpose of which was to facilitate early and accurate diagnosis.
He discusses pregnancy and pulmonary hypertension and notes the several significant pulmonary and CVS changes in pregnancy. Dr Symons points out that the mortality rate is high during pregnancy but the condition is rare. He discusses the management of the disease in pregnancy
Dr Symons discusses his experiences with lung transplant patients.
