This talk focusses on the problem of adult hospital malnutrition and identifying the patient at risk of malnutrition via nutritional screening. Hospital malnutrition prevalence is discussed and the importance of timely identification of patients at risk are emphasized. The right to optimal nutritional care is covered, as well as the various screening tools available. Challenges to implementation are explored, and strategies proposed re the way forward.
